Kurdish parties and individuals hold conference on the Treaty of Lausanne

A conference was held on Sunday on the occasion of the anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne, in the city of Lausanne in Switzerland.
Representatives of 57 Kurdish political parties and associations as well as Kurdish intellectuals, artists, academics and political figures participated in the conference at Palais de Rumine, where the Treaty of Lausanne was signed in 1923.

Ahmed Karamus, co-chair of Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) made the opening speech, saying that representatives of Kurdish institutions and also Kurdish individuals would be expressing their views on the Treaty.

Zübeyir Aydar, a former MP in the Turkish parliament and executive council member of the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK), Dilşah Osman, co-chair of the European Kurdish Democratic Societies Congress (KCD-E), Blase Jabbar Ferman and Aziz Memli were elected to chair the conference.

Following a visual presentation on the Treaty of Lausanne, Abdulkarim Omar, co-chair of the department of foreign relations of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), made the first address of the conference.
